Please don’t dispute a transaction

We work constantly to provide exceptional customer support. If something isn’t right with a top-up made by PayPal or by credit/debit card, the fastest way to resolve it is to get in touch with us. Please do not use the “dispute transaction” or chargeback option with PayPal, your bank or your card issuer.

Email us

  • A real person looks at your payment
  • We fix it directly — credit, correction or refund
  • Your account stays active
  • Support available 24/7

Open a dispute

  • The processor’s review can take weeks
  • High-risk consequences for the merchant
  • Your BentBucks account may be blocked
  • Credited BentBucks may be reversed
  • Disputing a payment you made yourself may be referred to debt collection

Why disputes are so damaging

When a transaction is disputed, the payment processor treats it as a risk event for the merchant. Each dispute brings fees and penalties, and a small number of them can lead PayPal or card processors to restrict or close the payment methods we offer to every BentBucks user. That is why disputing a transaction may result in your account being blocked — and why we would much rather hear from you directly.

Friendly fraud: disputing a payment you made

“Friendly fraud” is when someone disputes a payment they made themselves and received what they paid for — for example, topping up BentBucks, receiving the credit (and often spending it), and then telling PayPal or their card issuer the charge was unauthorised or the purchase never arrived. We have a verified record of every top-up, linked to your confirmed identity, and we contest disputes like these with that evidence.

If a payment you made is reversed through a dispute after the BentBucks were credited to your account, the reversed amount, together with any dispute fees charged to us, remains an outstanding debt you owe. Your account will be blocked, and we may refer the unpaid amount to a debt collection agency to recover it.

None of this applies to genuine problems. If you were charged in error, or your card or PayPal account was used without your permission, email us and we will put it right.

How to get a payment issue fixed

  1. Email info@bentbucks.com from the address linked to your BentBucks account.
  2. Tell us the date, the amount and how you paid (PayPal or card). If you have it, include the PayPal transaction ID or the last four digits of your card — never your full card number.
  3. Describe what went wrong. We’ll reply, investigate and fix the issue.

Common issues we fix

  • You were charged but your BentBucks balance hasn’t updated
  • You were charged more than once for the same top-up
  • The amount charged doesn’t match what you entered
  • You don’t recognise a BentBucks charge on your statement

Think your card or PayPal account was used without permission?

Email us straight away so we can lock the affected BentBucks account and investigate the charge. To protect your card, you should also let your bank or card issuer know it may be compromised.
